Our client in Boston, MA is seeking a Grants Project Coordinator who will work with the Office of Sponsored Programs.  OSP is responsible for financial and regulatory oversight of research funding received.  The Grants Project Coordinator will perform a variety of activities related to post-award financial management with other projects assigned on an as-needed basis. The Grants Project Coordinator reports to the Sr. Grants Manager and will interact with grants managers, investigators, project staff, and staff from collaborating institutions and company. This position requires excellent communication skills for close collaboration with investigators and project managers and with research administration and financial staff at external institutions.

 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine, recurring post-award financial management activities under the supervision of the Sr. Grants Manager.
  • Track and monitor changes in policies and procedures related to routine post-award financial management.
  • Perform routine data entry by entering projects into Oracle GMS in accordance with the OSP business process.
  • Establish administrative relationships with funding agencies, and collaborating institutions as part of routine post-award financial management activities.
  • Assist the Sr. Grants Manager with selected pre-award activities on an as-needed basis.
  • Work on other special projects, as needed, to support the Sr. Grants Manager and OSP.
  • Attend professional meetings and trainings as required with the expectation of development to the level of Grants Manager.
  • BA/S or equivalent experience required plus 1 year related experience.
  • Previous experience in higher education administration, research administration, or related field highly desirable;
  • General understanding of a research environment and exposure to/experience with human subjects, IRB submissions, proposal/grant preparation desired.
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to respond to a wide variety and high volume of request from numerous individuals in a timely and professional manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to details,
  • Ability to prioritize work; operate under and meet strict deadlines; and work independently with good judgment
  • Proficiency with various software packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and other desktop tools.
