Our client, a financial institution is looking to hire a collector to Initiate collection activities on consumer loans: including auto loans, home equity loans, credit cards, overdraft privilege and negative share accounts.  



§  Initiates additional collection efforts as necessary in conformance with regulatory collection policies and procedures.

§  Follow applicable policy and procedures that pertain to revoked VISA and Overdraft Privilege Accounts

§  Monitors and maintains assigned delinquent portfolio. Makes various collection action recommendations.

§  Documents collection activities and maintains appropriate records.

§  Provides administrative support to the department.

§  Prepares a variety of reports on a scheduled and as needed basis including various monthly financial reports.

§  Research bankruptcy proceedings on PACER; communicates when necessary with attorneys regarding member intentions.

§  Maintains and monitors Suspension of Services Programs

§  Responds to, research and resolve a variety of members account issues in a timely manner.

§  Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines.

§  Support the quality initiative in the lending department to eliminate waste through continuous improvement.

§  File loan disability claims and monitor member claims

§  Process attorney payments on charged off loans.

§  Maintain government monitoring tracking on inactive collection accounts (1099C)



§  Must be and remain bondable

§  Knowledge of general credit union/banking operations

§  Working knowledge on collecting past due accounts

§  Working knowledge of related collection   and bankruptcy laws

§  Working knowledge of RESPA servicing delinquent mortgage loans and loss mitigation

§  Familiar with skip tracing and other collection resources

§  Working knowledge of computer, and Microsoft Word and Excel

§  Aptitude for overseeing database of information

§  Accurate calculations and an aptitude to handle multiple varying tasks

§  Superior member service skills

§  Detail oriented.

§  Excellent organizational skills
